Why We Built FlipMargin

Every house flipper starts a project with a budget. Almost none of them end it on that budget. Between contractor draws, material runs, permit fees, and last-minute change orders, the gap between "what I planned to spend" and "what I actually spent" is where flip profits quietly disappear.

When we looked at how investors were tracking this, we found two options, and neither one fit how flippers actually work:

• Spreadsheets — flexible, but manual. Nobody updates a spreadsheet from a job site, and by the time an investor reconciles it, the budget has already been blown.
